A lot of new data has been added to the Storm Glass API the past months. Here is a brief summary:
Bathymetry & Global Elevation
Global elevation data in 0.0041×0.0041° resolution is now available. The response will give you the elevation relative to mean sea level, both for oceans and on land.
Bathymetry data combined with the Marine Bio data presented below is interesting for Fuel Efficiency Solutions and Vessel Performance Monitoring. Details can be found here.
Marine Biology Data
We now provide Marine Biology data globally and the parameters includes chlorophyll concentration, salinity level, phytoplankton, oxygen level, PH and more. All parameters can be found here.
This data is very relevant for Fuel Efficiency Solutions and Vessel Performance Monitoring but also interesting for applications within fishing.
Green Energy — Wind at Multiple Altitudes & Solar
Recently we have started to provide weather data for Green Energy applications and to begin with we have focused on global wind data at multiple altitudes. UV-index has also been added and more solar parameters will follow.
Agriculture
We have also added data specifically for Agricultural applications. In addition to the relevant weather data and solar data, Soil Moisture and Soil Temperature has been added and is available via the Bio endpoint.
